Service area questions
Do you charge more for areas further from Pontiac?
There is no separate trip fee bolted onto the invoice. The flat rate we quote already reflects the distance, so what you are told on the phone is what you pay. What does change with distance is notice: Pontiac Meadows or Michigan City wants a day's notice where Troy usually does not.
My town is not on the list. Do you still serve it?
Very possibly. This list covers the communities we deliver to most regularly, not the outer limits of where we will go. Call and ask — and if we genuinely cannot cover you we will say so rather than waste your time.
Am I in the village or the township?
A genuinely useful question here, because several places we serve are a small village sitting inside a much larger township with a similar name - Lake Orion inside Orion Township, Clarkston inside Independence Township, and the same pattern at Holly and Oxford. They are separate jurisdictions with different rules, and the postal town is the same either way, so it is worth checking.
Is there one Oakland County rule for all of this?
No, and that surprises people. The seventeen cities, villages and townships we serve each set their own rules, and even recycling in Oakland County is managed by the local communities rather than by the county. Two authorities, RRRASOC and SOCRRA, operate in the southern part of the county. Ask your own city, village or township - and for county-level questions, the offices are on Telegraph Road here in Pontiac, since the city is the county seat.
